The Moscow Pilgrims are a youth baseball club team for Christian families who are interested for their son to have experience playing on a team at a more competitive, “All-Star” level, without some of the typical negatives of travel teams. Parents can think of the Moscow Pilgrims as “A Travel Team for Families Who Don’t Want to Travel – or Play on Lord’s Day.”
A warm thank you to last year’s sponsors who helped keep costs lower for families and for supporting our boys:
New Saint Andrews College
Wooster’s Pizzeria
Tapped Taphouse & Kitchen

2026 season
The Moscow Pilgrims focus on discipline and high standards for character and play. We want players to have a great experience on this team as part of their childhood and further their love of and skill in baseball. Our coaches work to give each boy the experience of having a role to play and the satisfaction of contributing to a larger group by doing his specialized role well. The fee for the team is $250.
This year, our program is offering 10U and 12U teams. Coaches:
10U – Andy Sumpter, Ian McManus, George Landis
12U – David Schultz, Jordy Turner, Simeon Rauch
The Pilgrims board members are David Schultz, Joe Rigney, and Andy Sumpter.
Our season is in June and July. This program does not conflict with and is separate from Cal Ripken baseball.

team culture
After each game and practice, coaches award the Man of the Day. This individual is honored by leading the team in a closing prayer. We pray to open and close all practices and games.
At the conclusion of each game, coaches and players run a lap together. “The glory of young men is their strength…” Proverbs 20:29. We run an orderly team and dug out. Players can expect laps or being benched for an inning for disobeying a coach or not hustling.
Our team shares potlucks together during tournaments and the team culture is very friendly for families.
A fun season long offer from Pilgrims Coaches for players to enjoy and work toward is within one game, if every player on the roster gets on base, the whole team gets ice cream.
Lastly, at the end of the season, we will award one player on each team The Gold Glove trophy for Best Defensive Player as voted on by the coaches.
